- Actively reviewing land and rural property near Porto, Braga, and the wider North Portugal corridor.
- The first retreat format will depend on land, planning rules, utilities, access, and local approvals.
- This is a preparation and land-acquisition stage — not a reservation or booking stage.

Where the project is now
We are still searching for the right land
Lusitano Retreat is in preparation, not booking. The first build can only begin once the right land or rural property is secured, and the final format will depend on what that specific site allows.
What we want to build
A small, beautiful, nature-first retreat — built in layers
Nothing here is finished or guaranteed. These are the elements we hope to create on the right piece of land, kept deliberately simple and grounded in the landscape.
Stay
3–6 simple, beautiful stays
Upgraded caravan-style or cabin-style units, wrapped in timber and planting so they feel settled into the land rather than placed on it.
Nature
Water and wild edges
A natural pond or simple water feature if the site allows it, with habitat planting and quiet places to slow down.
Sauna & movement
Sauna and outdoor gym
Simple, practical wellness: a sauna and an outdoor movement space, designed for everyday use rather than spa theatre.
Garden & food
Garden, orchard, and food
Herbs, vegetables, fruit trees, and nature-based experiences woven into the site so the land itself is part of the stay.
Community
Simple shared spaces
Calm communal areas for slow living, shared meals, and small gatherings — community without crowding.
The 21-day build sprint
Twenty-one days of building, learning, and documenting
The sprint is a planned build-and-preparation challenge: a focused stretch of work on the land, shared day by day. It is as much a learning and documentary journey as it is construction — the goal is to show the real, practical, sometimes messy process of starting a retreat from the ground up.
Days 1–3
Land preparation and base camp: arrival, first clearing, and setting up a simple place to live and work on site.
Days 4–7
Cleaning, access, layout, and materials: opening up the site, planning where things go, and gathering reclaimed materials.
Days 8–14
First structures, garden, and outdoor experience: the first simple builds, early planting, and the beginnings of the guest landscape.
Days 15–21
Polish, storytelling, and the guest journey: finishing touches, documenting the story, and planning the next phase.
This is a provisional concept, not a guaranteed construction schedule. The real sequence will depend on the land, weather, materials, local help, and approvals.

Planning-stage note
Lusitano Retreat is currently in a planning and land-acquisition stage. Expressions of interest are not reservations. The final timing and format depend on land purchase, permits, utilities, suppliers, and local approvals. The build sprint is planned for later in 2026, and dates and details may change.
