Who's building this

A small crew, a few acres, and a promise to the land

Lusitano Retreat is not a fund or a franchise. It is a hands-on project: a UK-and-Poland builder-entrepreneur, a growing circle of volunteers and makers, and an honest plan to turn a few acres of Norte Portugal into a living, productive retreat — built in public, step by step.

01

Why Portugal, why this

Norte Portugal has the rain, the granite, the light, and the quiet that a regenerative retreat needs. The idea is simple and stubborn: don't paste a campsite onto a field. Read the land first, then shape stay, water, planting, food, and stillness into one coherent place that gives more back than it takes.

02

How we build

Reclaimed materials over new where it makes sense, a 21-day build sprint with volunteers, an open blueprint anyone can copy, and AI used as a real tool — to research, design, cost, and document every module. Low capital, high taste, and a bias toward things we can build with our own hands.

03

In the open, on purpose

Every decision, cost, and mistake is shared across five channels. If you are thinking of doing something similar — on your own land, in your own country — the whole point is that you can follow along and steal the parts that help you.

04

Honest about the hard parts

We are still securing the land. Licensing in Portugal is real work, and we treat it legal-first: AL/RNAL, water registration, and welfare rules come before guests, not after. This page will grow as the project does — and we will tell you when things don't go to plan.

“The land is not a backdrop. It is part of the experience — and part of the responsibility.”
